About Alabama Airwaves

Alabama Airwaves is an independent online community magazine for the whole state. We gather the stories people are sharing from Birmingham to the beach: local news, music, food, the outdoors and the small businesses that keep Main Street busy. Our Dial is a free guide to the stations broadcasting across Alabama, with a quick way to find each one online.

We are not a radio station and we do not broadcast. We are a reading site with a love of local radio, and The Dial simply points you to the stations that do.

How the headlines get here

We tune in to a licensed news API (Mediastack), Google News and Bing News, and we put Alabama newsrooms first. Tap any headline and it opens on the newsroom that wrote it.

Shout-Outs

Shout-Outs are announcements from businesses and organizations, published as they send them and always labelled Press Release.

Alabama Airwaves is independent and is not connected to any broadcaster listed on our pages.
